More of Amsterdam

January 8

Today we started off with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a traditional church service at the English Reformed church in Amsterdam. There were about 100 members in the church, and the service was pretty similar to a service at home. Following church we had about two hours to walk around and get some lunch. I went with McDonalds- very adventerous in the foreign countries! At 2p we boarded a boat that took us on a canal cruise. It was cool to learn alot about the surrounding buildings and bridges. The boat dropped us off at the Anne Frank house. We got to tour the place and read many excerpts from Anne's diary. It was neat to see it all, but soo sad! After the tour we went back to the hotel for a nap before some of the group got the Netherlands famous pancakes for dinner- pancakes and wine is a great combination! Following dinner we had a free evening to leisure around Amsterdam.
