Delft, Rotterdam, etc.

This morning we started off the day wih a trip to Aalsmeer where we visited FloraHolland, the worlds largest flower auction. They cut and sell about 15million flowers daily. I was expecing it to look something like a greenhouse- not at all! It was very factory-like: it was in a warehouse and extremely busy and hectic and loud. Next we made a quick stop to The Hague where we walked through the Parliament building which is an old castle. There was absolutely no visible security so we could just walk right in. Next was a few hours spent in Delft where we got lunch and visited many shops selling their famous blue and white ceramic Delftware. After the afternoon in Delft we loaded the bus and went and toured the sight of the large barrier of Rotterdam. Now we are at the hotel in Goes where we will stay for dinner and then lounge around here for the evening since there is not much else in this town.

I'm having issues uploading pictures, so if you want to see some check out pictures posted by our professor at http://europeinterim2011.wordpress.com/

Also- random thing. A kid on the trip thought Ted & I were married. Awkward!
Onto a new country tomorrow!

Pce. & Blessings.

  1. Haha!!! Thanks for posting. Please try not to seem married to Ted - you both need to meet unrelated members of the opposite sex. Soon. Senior scramble starts next year! ;)
